Something to keep in mind is that there's the Christmas sale soon, and maybe the Thanksgiving/Black Friday sale this coming weekend. If you're not sure which one's for you and you can only get one of them, I'd suggest watching some LPs to get a better idea of what the gameplay's like for each game. I love both games, and I'd have a hard time choosing if I had to pick just one of them. Terraria does have co-op, but I haven't tried it, as it's not my kind of thing, so I can't tell you how good it is. If multiplayer/co-op is something you like, CTW doesn't have any yet (though it's planned for later). On the other hand, if you prefer more of a management/strategy approach, then CTW's the one you want. If you're looking for more of a direct/hands-on platformer approach, Terraria's the one to go with. This makes both games quite different in terms of feel/playstyle, so you can't really compare them directly, despite their similarities. In CTW, you issue commands, and your dwarves carry them out. the world, and you directly do everything yourself. They're both 2D side-scrolling explore/mine/build/craft/fight adventure games.īut whereas you directly control one character in Terraria, CTW has you managing multiple dwarves. In some ways, CTW is very similar to terraria.
